Little Graces

My wife used the phrase “little graces” that God gives us the other day. He does that in so many ways. Sometimes they don’t seem to be initially.

You would think getting hit by a car wouldn’t be a grace. A couple of months ago someone came to the door and told my wife that she hit our car when pulling out of her friend’s driveway the night before. We didn’t even know it had been hit! It was small enough we probably wouldn’t have noticed for a while.

We really appreciated that this gal was truthful when she could have “gotten away” with it. It was turned into the insurance, and we waited for the adjuster to come and give us a quote. Instead of paying a body shop directly to give a quote, I guess they do it now, and they just send us the money they think it would take to fix it. It was a minor little bump and scrape on the front quadrant.

A minor bump that netted us almost $1000.

Since we’re moving, this money has been a real blessing. We used it for our closing costs, instead of repair a very minor thing on our oldest vehicle. It has freed up money to get things done on our old house and be ready for the new, instead of drastically stashing away every penny to have the closing costs covered.

It was a small thing, but it became big provision for us. God is good, all the time.

Our New Baby Girl!

Words fail me.

I am so stunned by the grace of God and the goodness He shows to us. How can such a tiny little thing, I’ve known for only a day, totally steal my heart so?

Beccy and I are proud to announce the birth of our daughter, Micaiah Mae, on 10/29/2008 at 12:30 pm. We’re still working on how to spell “Micaiah”, but we know we’ll call her Micah.

She weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. As you can see, she has a head full of dark hair. The nurses yesterday in the nursery would look at me, look at her, and ask if I was sure if I really was her daddy. She is doing wonderfully. Everyone is in love with her already.

Beccy is doing well, just recovering from the C-section. Things have gone really well, actually the best we’ve ever had for a C-section, so thank you for your prayers!

Our boys are enamored with their new baby sister, and can’t wait to get back to see her.

“What a rude awakening!”

Micah, her big brothers, and Nana.

What a doll!

Goodnight, I’m worn out.

Wow. What a little miracle. Bless all of you out there, and thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. What an answer!

Prayer Request

Hey there friends! I don’t make personal appeals here, but I would appreciate prayer for the next couple of weeks. As I’ve posted, my wife is pregnant and her C-section date is set for 10/29. We are very excited to be adding a little girl to our family! Of course we want Baby to be healthy, and the C-section always makes things more complicated.

Beccy needs strength to finish out well. She’s been fighting an inner ear infection and vertigo the last couple of weeks. She’s ready to have this baby!

Thanks to all of you. I am planning to have pictures up by 10/30, so please check back then! Bless you guys!

Baby Baby

I hinted a while back that we are having a special addition in the fall. Here’s the first pictures of the newest member of our family! Aren’t the feet adorable?

We’re very excited. We’ve slowly gotten out of baby mode, so it will be a little challenge to go back into it. We have good helpers though. The boys have also come up with some interesting name suggestions, from “Sonic” to “Snake Eyes” (blame that one on G.I. Joe).

After the ultrasound, people around here were very curious about what we were having, seeing as we have three boys. I was proud to announce that we’re having a human. Of course, ultrasound pictures can sometimes look creepy, but take my word for it.

She is much cuter than the pictures suggest.
